Field Of Honor II

– Interesting idea to showcase TV tapings in the unique environment of MCU Park in Coney Island, Brooklyn, New York. It was a different feeling from your conventional wrestling show, though the crowd wasn’t as vocal as you’d think, at least not right off the bat. Some of the camera angles felt awkward, but weren’t too much a distraction.¬†Anyways, the first tag match between the Time Splitters and The Briscoe Brothers saw a return for one Alex Shelly. This match sounded good headed in and revolved around mutual respect, as we saw some fun spots, well-timed maneuvers and a mix of car wreck-styled brawling and smooth athleticism. Kushida’s right fist strikes were put over a lot here and he singlehandedly woke the crowd up with his “You can’t see me” gesture. A couple of good near-falls towards the end had us briefly second-guessing who’d win, but given the way commentary talked about the Briscoes and their feud with The Decade, we weren’t shocked about this. Excellent match.
