Banned From Ringside

– We were off to a good start with the “Rock God” Ricky Gibson-“Adrenaline” Adrian Matthews opener. This was Matthews’ second match with the company and looked to gather more momentum at Gibson’s expense, who commentary had mentioned was on a slump. Interesting that they also speculated Greg Romero’s absence had something to do with the losing streak. Matthews also appeared smart in that he was aware of Tubbs’ tactics even before the bout, as he warned Tubbs not to get involved in his pre-match promo. A big plus of the hour was the great chemistry by Morty Lipschitz/Kris Kloss on commentary, as Lipschitz continuously denied any wrongdoings by the heels (particularly Tubbs), much to Kloss’ dissatisfaction. The action was good in the ring too, as Gibson-Matthews meshed well. Matthews put in a more memorable performance for sure and the win surely helped him out. The finish was fine too, as it showed Tubbs trying to help Gibson out with the cane and how it backfired when Gibson got the cane dropkicked into his face and that led to Matthews’ finisher. Make that two straight losses for Gibson, as we wonder if he’ll separate from Tubbs anytime soon.
