Wrecking Tradition

–  The WCWC Tag Team Championship opener between Champions Greg Romero/”Rock God” Ricky Gibson and Mikey O’Shea/Crash Test Cody provided fun action and furthered their little feud as of late, with the punk juggernauts vying valiantly for the gold, which sat comfortably on the waists of Romero/Gibson. Liked how commentary established early on how Romero uses the t-shirt wrapped 8-ball to do his dirty work and pointed out the shirt’s location throughout the match. Both teams were evenly matched, with some shiny amateur-esque ring work, particularly between Romero and CTC, which was nice to see. The build to the hot tag to O’Shea was well-done and we questioned why O’Shea would tag back out so quickly, but it didn’t take long before CTC had his crossface applied and this was the first time it looked like the heels were in true jeopardy before Mr. Tubbs provided enough distraction on the outside where Romero walloped CTC with the 8-ball to again make the difference, retaining the belts. There’s no stopping G n’ R at this rate.

The New Generation

– After last week’s stellar introduction to sports agent Kate Carney and her establishment of clientele like The Bonus Boyz (BB) and Ethan HD, they continued to build off that with a backstage promo from Carney/BB where she again reemphasized her point that in this business, it was easier to make money than friends and BB wanted to make a name for themselves. The way Carney carries herself with confidence is impressive and her well-spoken nature definitely has our attention.

Don’t Make Friends, Make Money

– 2016 has been friendly to Ethan HD’s singles resurgence, flashing a winning record, but perhaps missing that one factor that could push him to the top of the card. The Bonus Boyz definitely have a tag team presence, almost as “athletic jocks” of sorts. While Sugar Brown and Clutch Kucera each excelled in singles competition, they were glorified jobbers as a team and nobody took them seriously. This episode took care of all that, as we saw the debut of Kate Carney, their new valet with a character of a well-known sports agent. Close to ROH’s Veda Scott character yet rocking a swagger like Zooey Deschanel, Carney makes it work. We were introduced to pieces of the new stable with an opening backstage promo from Ethan/Carney and we couldn’t had been happier.

The Vampire Obsession

– Cheap tricks and shenanigans were the name of the game, stemming from last week’s shocking ending where Mr. Tubbs played a physical factor in costing The Whirlwind Gentlemen the WCWC Tag Team Titles, allowing his boys, “The Rock God” Ricky Gibson and Greg Romero to be the new Champions.
