May Mayhem

– In a world of goofy episode name decisions, TNA were beside themselves. Who thought up “May Mayhem”? Good lord. On the surface, there was potential. Ethan Carter III was on the last stop on the “Road To Redemption” as he’d battle “dark” Matt Hardy to get the chance to take on The Miracle at Slammiverary. Also previewed in the opening video were an Ultimate X match (for the X-Division Championship we assume) and an Al Snow-Grado match. The latter actually received good storyline support, so not a bad night on deck here.

There Ain’t No Stoppin’ Her Now

Beautiful Fierce Females

– The opening video, as you’d expect, highlighted the happenings from the recent “Beast In The East” WWE Network live special, inexplicably leaving out the results of the NXT Championship match though as we came to realize, the match was later aired in its semi-entirety on the show. There was a good balance of recap and progress on this episode. Nothing truly “must-see” but it was better than average. Don’t forget, this is NXT we’re talking about here, so we’re judging by the high standards that the show has been known to reach sometimes.

Too SAWFT For The BAMF

– Rightfully so, the opening video highlighted NXT Champion Kevin Owens’ stellar match with United States Champion John Cena at Elimination Chamber. Disappointingly so, besides the mention of Owens’ NXT Championship open challenge on Smackdown, he was nowhere found on the show he currently represents. Hell, even a backstage promo would suffice.
