Back In The UK

– TNA always seems to bring their A-game when traveling 4000 miles overseas to the United Kingdom. Anybody who remembers the classic Ethan Carter III-Rockstar Spud “Hair Vs. Hair” match can attest that this crowd brings something US crowds lack. The opening video did a good job of wrapping up several ongoing storylines in 90 seconds – Beer Money’s reunion tour, the new X-Division Champion Trevor Lee/Gregory Shane Helms alliance, the formation of the American Horror Story-esque tag team Decay (Abyss/Crazzy Steve/Rosemary) and more.

Round Of Eight

– The opening video hyped up the Round Of Eight matches in the TNA World Title Series: Eric Young-X-Division Champion Tigre Uno, Mahabali Shera-Bobby Lashley, Matt Hardy-Jessie Godderz and Davey Richards-Ethan Carter III. Even though the results seem mildly predictable, the quality should be higher. We seen that the amount of material to air for TNA was dwindling down, so we were also interested to see what they’d do to “stretch things out.”

To The Victor Go No Spoils

– The opening video highlighted last week’s TNA World Title Series happenings – Madison Rayne showing some actual personality en route to defeating Brooke to get on the board of Group Knockouts to make it a four-way tie at three points, both members of The Wolves went to a sizzling draw and Eric Young Piledrove his way to make Group Champions a four-way tie. Hyped for later on was Gail Kim-Rayne (Group Knockouts), Matt Hardy-Eddie Edwards (Group Tag Team Specialists) and Ethan Carter III-Mr. Anderson (Group Champions) as the Round of 16 was beginning to take shape, Hardy already in.

Notes In Observance – TNA Impact Wrestling 10/7/15: A New Kind Of Fall Classic

A New Kind Of Fall Classic

– Given TNA’s circumstances of an awkward taping schedule that leaves things outdated and a conclusion of a live Pay-Per-View that had a “happy ending” with Matt Hardy becoming the new TNA World Heavyweight Champion by pinning Drew Galloway in a three-way that also involved Ethan Carter III, they had to find some way to connect a makeshift tournament to randomly taped matches to “find a new Champion.” How is this possible, you ask? EC3 filed an injunction against Matt since he was taken out of the match by the Special Guest Referee Jeff Hardy – Matt’s brother. Said injunction prevents Matt from appearing on Impact with the Title. Matt, the company savior, relinquishes the Title to avoid further legal trouble that would leave the company without a Champion for months. Keep in mind this all went down in a matter of about three days after the PPV. The online wrestling world found it surprising and laughable – not in the cool way either.

Celebratory Warfare

– The opening video highlighted the “most important main event in TNA history” (or not) and showed Team TNA decisively defeat Team Global Force Wrestling with factors like Drew Galloway getting the winning fall and Bram joining Team TNA all in a video package about as anticlimactic as the real match.

Decisions, Decisions

– The opening video talked about Jeff Jarrett offering to run Impact when “The Law” Bully Ray was attacked (bet TNA feels stupid mentioning his likeness now), also looking at the attack on Drew Galloway backstage and PJ Black winning the King Of The Mountain Championship. Hyped were three random Championship matches – a three-way for the X-Division Championship with DJZ, Sonjay Dutt and Tigre Uno, Velvet Sky vs. Brooke for the Knockouts Championship (how did she earn that?) and Abyss/Manik vs. The Wolves for the TNA Tag Team Championships (same goes for them too).
